- Spinal surgery which can provide predictable results and hence prognosis indicators.
- Joint replacement with successful cruciate repair.
- Limb deformity
Limb deformity is usually treated by osteotomy and an external frame such as an IIlizarov or ring fixator, which may need regular adjustment. The treatment time can be quite long, but it is possible to change the shape of a limb to a more normal cosmetic and functional position. Such deformities are Carpal/tarsal valgus, carpal/tarsal varus, shortened limbs, torsion of front or hind feet, medial or lateral bowing of long bones, and spinal deformity.
